Hello again, dear readers!
Over the past few blog posts, we’ve taken you on a journey through who we are, what we do, why and how we do it. To conclude this series, we’re thrilled to showcase some projects we’re especially proud of. Two such examples are Legacy Heights in Wabash and Northview Estates in Topeka.
Legacy Heights, a 44-unit housing development, is within walking distance from the vibrant, active and exciting downtown Wabash. This development is more than just buildings and streets; it’s a community. It’s a testament to our belief that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to call home. These custom-built homes priced at $260,000 and up are making way for a wave of even more affordable and desirable homes, which are already sitting on the streets of beautiful Wabash, Indiana, as approximately half of the 500+ of the local market potential is made up of people who already live in Wabash. These folks don’t want to leave their beloved community. They just want a home that better suits their needs and lifestyle. With a median value of approximately $150,000 for existing homes, we’re eager to see the housing market explode in this highly desirable community.
Then, there’s Northview Estates in Topeka, a 151-unit development. Topeka is a small town with big dreams. It grows from a population of 1,000 at night to over 5,000 during the day when commuters come to work there. Northview Estates reflects this dynamism and growth, providing quality housing for the town’s rapidly expanding population. With employers brimming with job opportunities and a 40+ minute commute time for many of their employees, Topeka’s community leaders began investing its own local resources in 2020 by purchasing a large parcel of land on which to build new housing units. Today, this community stands to grow by more than 10% as Northview Estates takes off.
We’re proud of these projects not just because they are successful housing developments, but because they embody what we stand for. They’re real-life illustrations of how the H.O.M.E. (Housing Optimization through Market Empowerment) Method can transform communities and lives.
But this is just the beginning. We look forward to many more such successes, and we invite you to join us on this journey. Together, let’s continue to make a difference in our communities, one house at a time.
Thank you for being part of our story, and we can’t wait to write the next chapters with you.
Greetings, readers!
So far, we’ve taken you through who we are, what we do, and why we’re committed to our mission here at the Housing Resource Hub of Northeast Indiana. Now, it’s time to pull back the curtain and show you how we’re turning our vision into reality.
Our approach is rooted in the H.O.M.E. (Housing Optimization through Market Empowerment) Method and begins with our community leaders – inspiring individuals filled with what we like to call #Swagger. These leaders embark on a rigorous 6-12 month process with us, a journey of understanding and quantifying their local housing market potential.
This process is far from easy. It involves comprehensive research, detailed analysis, and a deep understanding of the economic, social, and cultural context of the community. But the effort is well worth the reward. By the end of it, we have a clear, actionable roadmap for establishing a sustainable housing production system – one that meets the community’s needs and harnesses its potential.
This is where Club 720, the free mobile app invented by our founder Heather Presley-Cowen, comes into play. Club 720 is a bridge, connecting potential buyers and renters to banks, lenders, HUD-certified Housing Counselors, and Club 720 coaches. It’s a marketplace of housing services, bringing together all the resources you need under one virtual roof.
But Club 720 isn’t just a tool; it’s a symbol of what we stand for – empowerment. We’re committed to making the housing market more accessible and empowering people to make informed decisions about their futures.
In essence, our work is about empowering communities to take control of their housing needs. We provide the resources, the platform, and the guidance, but the power to create change ultimately lies in the hands of the communities we serve.
In our next and final blog of this series, we’ll be sharing some of the projects we’re proud of and the impact we’re making. We can’t wait to share these stories with you!
Welcome back, dear readers!
In our previous posts, we’ve shared who we are and what we do here at the Housing Resource Hub of Northeast Indiana. Today, we’re going to talk about why we do what we do – why it’s important to us and why it should matter to you too.
Our mission is twofold: to make the dream of affordable housing a reality for all, and to bridge the wealth gap. It’s no secret that these issues have been persistent problems in America. They have been challenging to address, often leaving communities and individuals in a perpetual cycle of struggle.
But we believe in change, and we believe in the power of community and market forces to drive this change. That’s why we chose to embrace the H.O.M.E. (Housing Optimization through Market Empowerment) Method.
This innovative method, conceived by our founder Heather Presley-Cowen, leverages market forces to create sustainable solutions to the housing crisis and wealth gap. By optimizing local housing markets, we empower individuals and communities to contribute positively to their local economies. This isn’t just about providing shelter; it’s about enabling economic prosperity and stability.
We do what we do because we want to see communities thrive. We want to empower people to take charge of their futures, to have a stable place they can call home, and to enjoy the economic opportunities that come with it.
We do it because we believe that everyone deserves a chance at a better life, and we are committed to making that belief a reality, one community at a time.
In the next post, we’ll dive into how we put our mission into action. Stay tuned!
Hello again, dear readers!
In our last post, we introduced ourselves as the Housing Resource Hub of Northeast Indiana, the first prototype of the H.O.M.E. (Housing Optimization through Market Empowerment) Method. Today, we want to dive a little deeper and talk about what we do here and why it matters.
Simply put, we’re in the business of creating sustainable housing production systems. We recognize that each community has its unique needs and potentials, and our job is to tap into those and make the most out of them.
Our journey begins with understanding and quantifying the housing market potential in a given community. We collaborate with local and state governments, banks, lenders, HUD-certified Housing Counselors, nonprofits and Club 720 coaches to gather data, analyze trends, and understand the unique housing needs of the community. We then translate this understanding into actionable strategies and solutions, custom-tailored for each community we work with.
But we don’t stop there. We take it one step further. Using the insights we gain, we establish a localized housing resource hub – a centralized, accessible platform for all housing-related services in the area. Here’s where Club 720 comes in. Club 720, a free mobile app invented by our founder Heather Presley-Cowen, connects potential buyers and renters with a variety of housing-related services. Think of it as an Amazon for housing services – everything you need, all in one place. A software-as-a-service model platform that supports workforce housing initiatives, Club 720 serves as the software housing resource hubs use to measure outcomes all the way to the individual level. This empowers our communities, their leaders and investors to measure the efficacy of their policies and investments in real-time.
In essence, what we do is empower local communities to solve their housing issues, using market forces and targeted, sustainable strategies. We bring the right people to the table, facilitate collaboration, and foster an environment where sustainable housing production can thrive.
In the next post, we’ll talk about why we do what we do. Stay tuned and see you then!
