Therapeutic Approach: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Humanistic Therapy.
I am a licensed master social worker with experience working in school settings and hospice agencies. I enjoy working with children and at-risk youth. I have experience with individual and group therapy.
My educational journey began at Brescia University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2019. I continued my graduate studies at Brescia University and received my Master of Social Work in 2023. I recently became a licensed chemical dependency counselor-intern in the State of Texas and look forward to helping those who struggle with chemical addiction. I have worked at non-profit agencies for over 6 years with families of diverse backgrounds. As a Latina, and an immigrant, there is a growing need for more Spanish speaking mental health professionals, and it is important for me to help educate and empower our fellow Latinos and end cultural traumas.
I am a Native Spanish speaker and look forward to serving the Latino community with my knowledge and expertise. As a professional, I strive to educate myself every day and will soon begin working on my clinical hours to better serve all my clients.
I believe our traumas are not just about the event itself, but also how we process it. Our traumas shape us into the people we are today and if not healed properly, can cause disorder in our life. Healing our traumas is a journey and I am here to help you in that journey.
I look forward to my first year as a tele-therapist with Wings of the Future, NFP, and helping you gain a more fulfilling life.
Respectfully,
Berenice I. Mendoza, LMSW, LCDC-I
